James Victor Frank

James Victor Frank, 70, of Reedsburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1938, in Reedsburg, the son of Harold J. and Mary Mae (nee Fry) Frank.

On May 28, 1966, he was united in marriage to Jean Karen Gibeaut at the United Methodist Church in Lime Ridge. This marriage was blessed with two children. Jim was an admired tractor mechanic at Baraboo Implement Inc. since 1964. He enjoyed working outdoors during the summer with gardening and landscaping projects. He was talented at fixing things and liked do-it-yourself projects. Family time was important to him, especially with his children, grandchildren and niece, Lori. Jim and Jean and their family enjoyed camping, Brewers games and family vacations to Florida. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jean of Reedsburg; children, Brian (Ingrid) Frank of Mount Horeb and Brenda (Peter) Merschdorf of Muskego; grandchildren, Kiersten and Ethan Frank and Emma Merschdorf; mother, Mary Frank of Reedsburg; sister, Edna Mae (Clinton) Dunham of Ridgeway; brother, Jerry (Charlene) Frank of Baraboo; mother- and father-in-law, Kenneth and Irma Gibeaut of Reedsburg; sister- and brother-in-law, Sharon and Jim Warn of Reedsburg; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Gayno Joyce Frank, in infancy.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Farber Funeral Home, 2000 Viking Drive, Reedsburg. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Jan. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg. The Rev. David Farina will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials of remembrance may be made to the UW Hospital Cancer Research or United Methodist Church in Reedsburg in lieu of flowers.
