Robert 'Bob' Paul Ewert
Feb. 1, 1928 - Nov. 17, 2008
Robert "Bob" Paul Ewert made a peaceful trip to the Lord on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008. He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Milwaukee.
He worked for the Milwaukee County Transit System for 41 years, retiring in 1990. While living in Franklin, he served as an auxiliary police officer, security guard at the Hales Corners Speedway and Milwaukee Mile. He also founded Troop 611 of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. He eventually moved to Palmyra in 2003 with his loving wife, Dorothy (nee Jacobs) Ewert, and his granddaughter. His love for life was transcended only by his love for his family. He will be dearly missed.
He was a devoted father to the late Scott, the late Craig, and Linda; a cherished "Grampy" to Joseph and Jazmine; and he is also survived by many friends and family members.
The family will receive guests between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, followed immediately by a memorial service at Highview Evangelical Presbyterian Church, S50-W33042 Highway GE, Dousman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
Congdon & Company Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Ill., (847) 746-1234, www.congdonfuneralhome.com, is serving the family.
