William R. ‘Willy’ Pike

William R. "Willy" Pike, 59, of Balsam Lake, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Willy was born Jan. 3, 1950, in Watertown, to Robert and Shirley (nee Greene) Pike.

He attended and graduated in 1969 from Waukesha South High School. He worked at and retired after 25 years from Navistar. He worked another nine years in the Waukesha area until moving up north to Balsam Lake, where he worked part time at Bishop Industries.

Willy continued to enjoy his lifelong interests in fishing, hunting and golfing.

Willy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Pike.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Joan; son, Robert (Sherry Carmack); stepson, John Klopfer; grandsons, Blake and Logan Klopfer; brothers, Jeff (Judy), David (Mercy) and Tom (Diana); sisters, Barbara (Randall Schmid), Linda (Dan Freimund), Leona (David Dyer) and Marilee Turley. Many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He will go on in our hearts and memories forever and will be greatly missed by all.

Willy has requested no services and private burial for his immediate family only.
