Nancy Lynn Goodman, 62, of Pewaukee, found comfort and peace Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009. She was born Jan. 26, 1946, in Chicago, to the late Albert L. and Helen R. (nee Petersen) Ratke.
Nancy graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1969, taught special education in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Wisconsin in 1975. She served as a substitute teacher, waitress and dedicated merchandiser for American Greetings. She was a charter member of the International Chili Society and won the Illinois State Salsa Championship in 2006.
She was the beloved wife and friend of Michael Goodman and the dedicated and loving mother of Nathan (Carrie) and Joshua Goodman. Nancy cherished her grandchildren, Conner, Megan and Morgan. She was the dear sister of Janet (Gary) Malcolm; the sister-in-law of Ronda (Pete) Parish; and dear aunt of Kirsten (Steve) Klug, Kelly Younker and Cody (Tara) Younker. Nancy is further survived by many cousins and caring friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha.
Memorials to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County are appreciated.
