Anne Randle Waldner

Anne Randle Waldner, 87, of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in a local hospital.

Born on March 3, 1921, in Waukesha, she was the daughter of the late Harrie R. and Harriett Sleep Randle, and was the wife of the late Craig McConnell Waldner. In addition, she was predeceased by a grandson.

She was a 1938 graduate of Waukesha High School and a 1942 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. She later received her masterís degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a W.A.V.E.

She is survived by three daughters, Wendy R.W. Flynn and Jo Anne Ebersold, both of Charlottesville, Va., and Heidi W. Nufer of Georgia; two sons, Craig McConnell Waldner Jr. of Pennsylvania and Scott Hendry Waldner of Georgia; one sister, Betty R. Greer; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.
