Evelyn M. Schuetze

Evelyn Schuetze passed away June 10, 2009 in Denver, Colorado at age 99.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Reuben Schuetze.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Cain of San Jose, Calif.; her daughter, Nancy (Emory) Sampson of Denver; her son, Robert (Abbie) Schuetze of Boulder, Colo.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Waukesha, Evelyn moved to Colorado in December 2000 to be closer to her family. Evelyn, or "Evie" as her friends liked to call her, was active in Waukesha at the First Presbyterian Church, Carroll College from which she graduated in 1931, the Waukesha Womanís Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, the PEO Sisterhood and several bridge clubs.

Evelyn taught high school math in Sheboygan Falls. She was the bookkeeper for Aeroshade and Stuempfig Decorating Center in Waukesha, retiring at age 88. Evelyn enjoyed volunteering her time for many service organizations, including Meals-on-Wheels and the Cancer Society.

A brief service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel in Waukesha. Burial will follow. A celebration of life reception will be held for all who knew her from from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Clarke Hotel, 314 W. Main St., Waukesha.
