Hazel H. Landsiedel

Feb. 25, 1920 - June 23, 2009

Hazel H. Landsiedel (nee Horstmeyer) of the Town of Brookfield, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Virginia Health and Rehab Center at 89 years of age. She was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Milwaukee, to William and Millie (nee Luckensmeyer) Horstmeyer.

Early in her life, she had worked various jobs as a secretary. On June 15, 1951, she married Thomas J. Landsiedel. After raising their children, she ran the English Learning Center at Waukesha South High School, retiring in 1981. Her most loved job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Waukesha.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Heidi (Bruce) Bayer of the town of Brookfield and Jodi (Craig) Miller of Waukesha. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Lindsay, Brittany and Kelsey Bayer and Terra Miller, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 1978; sister, Helen Jens, in 1996; as well as her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Tuesday, July 21, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha. Inurnment was held privately at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
