John William Crosswaite

 

John William Crosswaite of Waukesha went home to God peacefully Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Franciscan Woods at the age of 86 years.

 

John graduated from East Troy High School in 1941. He proudly served in the United States Army in the 734th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II, from 1942 to 1945. John was employed at Pressed Steel Tank (South 43rd Street and West Lincoln Avenue) until 1982 and for Dairyland School Bus until his retirement in 1999.

 

John will be fondly remembered by his son, the Rev. John J. (Betsy) Crosswaite, and grandsons, Mike and Steve Yunker. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Katherine (nee Gaskell) Crosswaite; sisters, Mary Margaret and Elizabeth Whelan; brother, Thomas; and longtime best friend Betty Stine and other friends.

 

John’s family would like to send a special thanks to Mary Piette, Bev, Tammy, Dawn, Jodee, Peggy, hospice nurse, Deede and the entire staff of Franciscan Woods for their exceptional care of John.

 

The funeral Mass for John will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI  53187. The visitation will be on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Private burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, East Troy.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Kirkland Crossings’ Landscaping Fund, 700 Quinlan Drive, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
