Alma 'Jane' Chase

April 16, 1928 - June 5, 2009

Alma "Jane" Chase of Waukesha died unexpectedly Friday, June 5, 2009, at her home at age 81. She was born April 16, 1928, in Whitewater, the daughter of John and Alma (nee Zimmerman) O’Donnell.

Jane was a 1946 graduate of Whitewater High School and enjoyed attending class reunions in the years that followed. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Chase on July 31, 1950, in Nebraska. Together they were longtime members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha. Jane made a career out of taking care of her family, and was especially proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and knitting, but her favorite pastime was playing cribbage.

Jane will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" of Waukesha; son, Peter (Marcia) Chase of Johnson Creek; grandchildren, Robert and Kristi Chase; two great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Peyer of Palmyra; brother, Francis (Rita) O’Donnell of Madison; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Burial will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove.
