Viola R. Jacobs

June 27, 1928 - June 8, 2009

Viola R. Jacobs, 80, of Elkhorn, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at her residence.

She was born June 27, 1928 in Waukesha, the daughter of Reinhold and Elsie (Steinhart) Schultz.

Viola married Wayne M. Jacobs on April 28, 1945 in East Troy. Wayne died Sept. 20, 2000.

Viola worked as a cashier for several years with Community Bank of Elkhorn retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Elkhorn. She was past president of the Professional Business Women’s Association, a member of Elkhorn Senior Center, an avid card player and belonged to several card clubs.

Viola is survived by her four children: Judith Dill of Mukwonago, Joy (William) Krueger of Marshall, Texas, Glenn (Anna) Jacobs of Waukesha, and Jeanette Jacobs of Elkhorn

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Kimberly, Julie, Paula, Tanya, Jennifer, Jeffrey and Jeremy, and nine great-grandchildren.

She will also be mourned by her special friend Harold Minette of Elkhorn and by her sister, Mary Ann (August) Anstedt of Delavan.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Wayne, and a grandson, Robert.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 12, 2009 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St. in Elkhorn, with the Rev. Kurt Grunewald officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in the town of Delavan. Memorials may be made in Viola’s name to: VNA-Hospice of Lake Geneva or American Cancer Society.
