Steven L. Lurvey

Steven L. Lurvey, 60, of Dousman, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1948, the son of Conrad and Genevieve (nee Miller) Lurvey.
He married Kathryn Schutz on Feb. 26, 1999, in St. Lucia, West Indies.
Steve served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969, was a member of American Legion Post 405, owner and operator of Lurvey Welding in Dousman and an avid race car participant. He enjoyed his family time - they were very important to Steve - the time was short, but was very valuable to them all. Steve lived and played hard, sharing of himself and putting others first was his top priority.
Steve will be sadly missed by his wife, Kay; children, Ramona of Martinez, Calif., Eric (Vilhjalmur Vilhjalmsson) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Shane (Ann Janquart) of Oconomowoc, Dawn of San Diego and Mike of Dousman; grandchildren, Santanna, Dakotah and Aidan; father, Conrad of Dousman; sister, Lois (Jim Stetter) Conway of Missouri; and the mother of Stevenís children, Teresa, of California. He is further survived by other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until the 5:30 p.m. memorial service Friday, June 12, at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 36821 Sunset Drive (Highway 18), Dousman.
