Daniel Lauer Jr.

Daniel Lauer Jr., 85, of Dousman, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2009. Daniel was born Nov. 23, 1923, to Daniel Sr. and Edna Lauer in Milwaukee.

Daniel was a lifetime member of St. Bruno’s Catholic Church in Dousman, where he belonged to the choir for many years, and he also served on the parish counsel for many years. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul and was an active volunteer at Three Pillars Masonic Home in Dousman. He was also named person of the year in the ‘90s from the Dousman Chamber of Commerce for all the dedication he gave to the community.

Danny is survived by his loving sisters, Betty Foltz and Ruth Strand, along with his nieces and nephews, Ken (Linda) Strand, John (Lynn) Foltz, Cathy (Bruce) Antonie, Jim (Nancy) Foltz, Jerry (Bernadette) Strand, Chris (Ken) Thomas, Barb Edwards, Greg (Kathy) Strand, and many great-grandnieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Joseph Foltz and Art Strand.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 17, at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Dousman. A committal service will be at 8 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Wisconsin Right to Life, St. Vincent DePaul or the St. Bruno Endowment Fund.

The family of Daniel would like to give a special thank you to all those who visited and prayed with Danny during his time of illness. His life was dedicated to his devout Catholic faith with a special devotion to the Virgin Mary.
