Homer A. Walls

July 16, 1919 - June 12, 2009

Homer A. Walls of Waukesha died Friday, June 12, 2009, at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 89. Homer was born in Des Arc, Ark., on July 16, 1919, the son of Homer and Effie Walls.

He married the love of his life, Edna Walrabenstein, on April 5, 1946. Homer was proud to be a business partner with his brother-in-law, Arthur Walrabenstein, for more than 35 years. They were owners of General Cartage Trucking Co. He attended Brookside Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing, painting and spending time with family. Homer proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years, Edna; children, Scott (Karen) Walls, Peter Walls, Tim (Chris) Walls, Marsha (John) Flanagan, Marilyn (Rol) Erickson, Mary Walls, Dana Butterfield, Chris (Steve) Kronsnoble and James (Kari) Walls; grandchildren, Erin, Nathan (Abby), Katie (Ben), Peter (Wandajean), Hannah, Kathleen, Jamie, Noah, Jesse, Aaron, Elizabeth, Sarah, Meredith, Scott, Sara, Jack, Sally, Leigh, Will and Madeline; and great-grandchildren, Ellie, Hunter, Isabella and Cole. Homer is further survived by a brother-in-law, Art Walrabenstein, and his wife Betty, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Owen, Preston, Mack and Lamar; and sisters, Grace Swords and Frances Tenzel.

A special thank you for the loving care given to Homer at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Wisconsin Rehab and AngelsGrace Hospice. In addition, our deep thanks to Dr. Berman, Dr. Strong, Dr. Palmer and Dr. O’Malley.

A visitation for Homer will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the noon funeral service Monday, June 15, at Brookside Baptist Church, 4470 Pilgrim Road, Brookfield, WI 53005. Entombment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
