Bonnie Vanderhei, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at age 70. Bonnie was born Feb. 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Alois and Edna Hinkes.
She married Douglas "Doug" Vanderhei Sr. on Sept. 14, 1957. Her true passion in life was being with her family.
Bonnie will be deeply missed by her husband of 51 years, Doug; her sons, Doug Jr. (Sharon) of the town of Summit and Allan (Tina) of Palmyra; her daughter, Lori (James) Franko of Waterford; her grandchildren, Adam (Melissa Kaiser) and Elizabeth Vanderhei; her brother, Al "Butch" Hinkes of Waukesha; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Chuck Vanderhei, Tom (Donna) Vanderhei, Susie Kirsch and Karen Schulfer. Bonnie is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Don and Lorraine Tweed, and Marge Dombrowski.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral Mass for Bonnie will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21 at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Leonard Barbian will officiate. A visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha immediately following the Mass.
