Nancy Jo Gerbensky
Nancy Jo Gerbensky, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, died peacefully at age 58 after battling cancer with courage and grace Wednesday, March 18, 2009, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 7, 1951, the daughter of Chester and Margaret (Pirozzoli) Gerbensky. Nancy graduated from Waukesha High School in 1969. She worked with Dr. James Nagel of Waukesha Eye Associates for more than 18 years. Nancy volunteered at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for more than five years and also volunteered her time at Martha Merrel’s, knitting masks for soldiers. She really enjoyed knitting, sewing and quilting, but more precious was her family.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her children, Christopher (Jennifer) Bauereis of Nebraska, Catherine Bauereis of Oregon, Samuel Bauereis of West Bend and Emily (Daniel) Parker of Waukesha; and her grandchildren, Madee, Noah, Avery and Graylin. She is the sister of Karen (Leo) Hickok, Steve (Tammy), David (Marie), Chester (Kristin), Patrick (Karen), Peter, Michael (Carol) and John.
The memorial service for Nancy will be held Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The visitation will be from noon until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
