Edward A. Fintel

Edward A. Fintel, 79, of Genesee Depot, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009, at Muskego Health Care Center surrounded by the love of his family. He was born Aug. 3, 1929, the son of the late Manford and Marjorie (nee Edwards) Fintel.
Edward graduated from Mukwonago High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served his country in the Korean conflict. He was retired from Waukesha Engine after 33 years as a specification writer. In his retirement years, he enjoyed eight years as a greeter for Walmart in Delafield. He was member of the First Congregational Church, where he held numerous positions, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5270, where he achieved all-state status, and he was a member of the Wales/Genesee Lions Club for 25 years. Edward enjoyed family, friends, home improvement and sports.
Edward was the devoted husband of Sandy (nee Olson), whom he married in May 1959; beloved father to his three children, Lela, Brent (Carrie) Fintel and Eric (Kim) Fintel; and special grandpa to Jake and Caleb Brow, Alyssa, Kara, Calli, Jenna, Jarrett and Madison Fintel. Edward is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; sister, Florence; and brother, Richard.
Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Thursday, April 2, at First Congregational Church of Genesee (Educational Center), W306-S5047 Church St., Genesee, with the Rev. Joseph Medina officiating.
Memorials in Edís name can be made to the First Congregational Church in Genesee.
