Rosella T. Metzger

Rosella T. Metzger, 93, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. She was born June 18, 1915, in Lowell, to Bernard and Anna (nee Flasch) Metzger.

Rosella worked in the beauty industry for 59 years as a stylist and manicurist. She moved to West Los Angeles, Calif., in 1944, where she provided nail care to many people, including celebrities, for 35 years. She eventually moved to Waukesha, where she was employed at King’s Head for many years. She also volunteered at both the Waukesha County Courthouse and at a radio station. In her spare time, Rosella loved visiting her nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was a former member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha and was a current member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus.

Survivors include her sister, Lucille Nowak of Beaver Dam; a sister-in-law, Marian Metzger of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Norbert, Charles and Roman; four sisters, Catherine Cromheecke, Mary Bahls, Margaret Heppe and Agnes Metzger; three brothers-in-law, Frank Heppe, Arthur Bahls and Maynard Cromheecke; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Batz Metzger.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Interment will be in St. Isadore Cemetery in the town of Clyman. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
