Barbara Anne Blaeske

Barbara Anne Blaeske, 50, of Henderson, Nev., passed away unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Barbara was born in Waterford to Richard Blaeske (deceased) and Roberta Oehrke.

She was a graduate of Palmyra High School and attended USC after serving 10 years with the U.S. Army. She served primarily in Fulda, Germany.

She resided in Las Vegas for many years as she has lived her life of adventure. She has been a forest fire jumper, with the Mount Charleston Ski Patrol, a casino employee and recently drove over-the-road semi.

Barbara loved to hike and camp and come to the top of a hill and be able to say, "Wow." Her faithful cats, Simon and Abby, will be found new homes through the no-kill cat rescue.

She is survived by her brothers, Steve, Michael (Dee Dee) and Douglas. She is further survived by many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Brach, Everal Jackson and Ervin and Erna Blaeske.

The family is being served by Desert Memorial of Las Vegas and she will be interred at Southern Nevada Military Memorial in Boulder City, Nev.

We will dearly miss our traveler and her chuckle sense of humor.
