James A. ‘Jim’ Putz

James A. “Jim” Putz, a lifelong resident of Waukesha , died on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.

Jim was born Dec. 2, 1933, the son of Samuel and Florence Putz. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

Jim worked for his father’s company, Putz and Evans. When his father retired, he and James Mann started their own company, Mann and Putz. He later formed his own company, the James A. Putz Co., until he sold it when he retired. Jim had a passion for his family’s involvement with horses, was a sports fan, loved gardening, fishing and most of all, his family.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Corinne; daughters, Roxanne (Thom) Anderson of Eagle, Cheryl Putz of Pewaukee and Dawne Tabat of North Prairie; grandchildren, Corey, Lacy and Katie Knoelke, and Angie and Lindsey Tabat;  his aunt, June Fryatt of Waukesha, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. , Waukesha , with the Rev. Kris Androsky officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery the following day.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the First United Methodist Church , 121 Wisconsin Ave. , Waukesha , WI 53186 , or the American Cancer Society, N19-W24350 Riverwood Drive , Waukesha , WI 53188 .
