Edward W. ‘Ed’ Ruble

Edward W. "Ed" Ruble found his peace after a courageous battle with cancer Thursday, May 21, 2009, at age 79.

Ed was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was married to Betty (nee Fletcher) on July 16, 1949, in Waukesha. He loved to travel, go on road trips in his car and loved his boat. He will always be remembered for his colorful expressions of people, places and things.

He was the beloved husband to "the love of his life" for 60 years, Betty (nee Fletcher). He was the dear father of Patricia (William) Kesy and the late Mary Natvig and father-in-law of Gary Natvig. He was blessed in this life by his four grandsons, James Gummo, Steven (Sharon) Gummo, Edward (Lynn) Natvig and Timothy (Nikki Groninger) Natvig, and great-grandsons, Justin Roycraft and Kyle Natvig. Ed was the special honorary grandpa to Sarah Natvig. He is also loved by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel, and his brother, Wayne.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, with a service at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Donald Weiss officiating, followed by a military service. Private burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
