Amelia M. ‘Millie’ Sereno

Amelia M. "Millie" Sereno of Waukesha died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at her home with her family by her side at age 90. She was born Sept. 11, 1918, in LaValle, the daughter of Adolph and Marie (nee Doro) Wiese.

Amelia was united in marriage to Arthur Sereno on Dec. 1, 1939, in Iowa; he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed at Amron Corp. in Waukesha, retiring in 1975. She was also a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Along with her husband, she loved music and dancing. Millie also enjoyed doing crafts, which included ceramics and knitting. But her greatest love of all was her children, grandchildren and family.

Millie will be sadly missed by her children, Albert Sereno (friend Carol), Richard (Susan) Sereno and Sue Cotton (friend John Jr.), all of Waukesha; grandchildren, Joe Sereno (friend Debbie), Ken Sereno, Jeff Sereno (friend Jackie), Greg Cotton, Michael (Kelly) Sereno and Andrea Sereno; great-grandchildren, Russ Sereno, Amanda J. Gale, Cailin Sereno, Kiley Sereno and Kira Sereno; and great-great-grandchidren, Scarlet and Lynea. She is also survived by her special friend, Wanda Pritchard of Minnesota, and her two little friends, Monica Rose and Veronica Lopez.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Paul Wiese, Herman Wiese, Anna Pagel, Elsie Olson and Arthur "Sonny" Wiese, and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 27, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Gary Liedtke will preside. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin (please meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for a procession to the cemetery).
