James E. Clark, 71, of Waukesha, went home after a long illness to be with his savior Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Jim was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Waukesha to James and Betty (nee Parsons) Clark.
Jim was a professional violinist with the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra at age 16. He was a charter member of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 39 years. He served as the "first violinist" for many quartets and trios over the years. In his latter years, he used his violin as his ministry at many different nursing homes in the Waukesha area.
Jim served as the coordinator for the Amateur Radio Emergency Service for the National Weather Service in Milwaukee. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman.
Jim is survived by his sister, Gloria Burchell-Anderson of Waukesha; his nieces and nephews, Robert L. (Cynthia) Burchell III of Marion, Ind., Lisa Shimon-Rehn (David) of Waukesha and Kathy (Dean) Roberts of East Troy; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Monday, June 1, at Our Saviorís Wesleyan Church, S93-W30580 Highway NN, Mukwonago, with the Rev. Jerry Krupp officiating.
Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
