RICHMOND HILL, Ga. William R. Hilbert William R. Hilbert,
83, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Hospice Savannah. Mr. Hilbert was born
in La Crosse and lived in Waukesha for a number of years. He worked for
Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a sales manager until his retirement to
Inverness, Fla. He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II. He lived in Richmond Hill for the last 18 months
with his daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Hilbert was an avid golfer and he
loved fishing. He and his wife loved to travel. He attended St. Anne’s
Catholic Church. He is survived by
three daughters, Julie O’Connor (Tom) of Richmond Hill, Ga., Lorie
Jurick (Mike) of Atlanta and Paula Brierton (Pete) of Waukesha;
grandchildren, Melissa Brush (Andy), Bill O’Connor (Beth), Andrea
O’Connor, Meagan Jurick, Michael Jurick, Katie Brierton and Lauren
Brierton; great-grandchildren, David Dolensek and Grace O’Connor; and a
sister, Betty George of Inverness, Fla. He was preceded in
death by his wife of 52 years, Vivien Peterson Hilbert. A graveside service
will be held in Inverness, Fla., at a later date. Richmond Hill Funeral
