Anthony J. Bendel Jr. of Waukesha, after losing his battle to cancer, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 68 years. Anthony was born Dec. 29, 1940, the son of Anthony Bendel Sr. and Rose Koehne.

He was a caring and loving husband to the love of his life, Pat Hecht, whom he married in 1992. Anthony was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Waukesha. Prior to his illness, he was employed and retired from M.C.P. of Milwaukee and was most recently a part-time driver for Aries Industries of Waukesha. He was an avid bowler in leagues at Sunset Bowl and Fracaro’s. He loved to read, go to the movies and vacationing. Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Anthony will be dearly missed by his wife, Pat (nee Hecht); daughter, Nicole (Ty) Blair; stepson, Fred (Jayne) Preuss; stepdaughter, Debra Preuss; mother, Rose Koehne; grandsons, Travis Blair and Derric Preuss; sisters, Rosemary Ransdell, Sharlene Wardinski and Sandra King; and Anthony is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father and five brothers-in-law.

The funeral service for Anthony will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 S. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Peter Schmidt will be officiating. The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service Wednesday at the church. Private family burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha. Memorials to the family are appreciated to be donated to the charity of their choice at a later date.
