James E. Thomas of Waukesha died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at the age of 87. James was born Sept. 5, 1922, the son of John and Anna Thomas.
On May 24, 1952, James married the love of his life, Julia Zimmermann. James farmed on the family farm for more than 25 years and was employed at Amron for more than 30 years. He was a hardworking, meticulous handyman who loved to make his own tools. He will always be remembered for being a devoted husband and father who had a great sense of humor.
James will be dearly missed by his wife, Julia; children, Judy M. (Rick) Lieblang, Jean (James) Knuteson, John E. (Chris Call) Thomas, Jane (Jeff) Heckman and James (Denise) Thomas; grandsons, James, Shawn, Chris, Matt and Steve; stepgranddaughters, Erin, Lori and Amanda; great-grandson, Anthony; stepgreat-granddaughter, Karlise; and sister, Annabelle Evans. James is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion Williams.
The funeral Mass for James will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Jason Lavann will be officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. Mass Wednesday at the church. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha.
