NEW BERLIN

Daniel N. ‘Danny’ Winter

Daniel N. "Danny" Winter of New Berlin passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at West Allis Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 24, 1928, the son of Joseph and Alice (Williams) Winter.

Danny proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army. He spent almost four years in Germany during the Korean War and loved sharing his stories with his children and grandchildren. Danny married his bride, Josephine Gonzalez, on June 27, 1953, and was proud to tell everyone about his 56 years of wedded bliss. He worked for Kearney & Trecker in West Allis for 35 years until retirement. His hobbies included woodworking, coin collecting and aviation. With a love of old cars, he was a former member of the Wisconsin Corvette Club with his 1965 Coupe. But most of all, Danny enjoyed spending time with family.

Danny will be dearly missed by his wife, Josephine "Josie"; his daughter, Cindy (Tim) Pitterle; his son, Jim (Cheryl) Winter; grandchildren, Jon, Ryan, Kevin and Michael Pitterle, and Leigh Ann, Gina and Bobbijo Winter.

He was welcomed into heaven by his loving son, Robert; his parents; brother, Bob; and sister, Blanche.
