Janis L. Sonnenburg

Janis L. Sonnenburg (nee Lohr), 58, of Erin, was born to eternal life Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Janis was born Dec. 1, 1950, in Milwaukee, to Harold and Leona (nee Umgelder) Lohr. She was united in marriage to Gary Sonnenburg on May 24, 1980, in Waukesha.

Janis worked as an administrative assistant. She loved to play bingo and belonged to a Bunco club. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland.

Janis is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Jack Weidner of Kansas City, Michelle (Frank) Braatz of Watertown, and Christopher Sonnenburg of Wauwatosa; two grandchildren, Hayley and Isabella Braatz; her sister and brothers, Eileen Crusan, Curt (Joann), Carl, and Harry (Cathy) Lohr. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leona Lohr, and her sister, Violet Bauer.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 415 W. Capitol Drive, Hartland, with the Rev. Steve Ristow officiating. Family will greet friends and family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church are appreciated.
