Winona Schroeder, 88, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Shorehaven on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009.
Winona was a longtime member of Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc, the Oconomowoc Women’s Club, the Oconomowoc Senior Center and she was a former member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She was also an elementary school teacher for most of her life.
Winona is survived by her children, Kendra-Sue (Richard) Rohde of McGregor, Minn., and Todd Warren (Marjorie) Schroeder of Pewaukee; four grandchildren, Ryan (Laura) Schroeder, Benjamin (Jodi) Schroeder and Thomas and William Rhode; a sister, Audrey Gardner of Pewaukee; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Joe) Brodzeske and Joan Schroeder; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Ware; husband, Kenneth; brother, Warren Ware; and brothers-in-law, Guy Gardner and William Schroeder.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 9:30 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 28, in the chapel at Shorehaven Lutheran Homes, 1305 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Interment will follow the service at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin. The Rev. Eric Gronberg will be officiating.
