Rolf Dieter Buschhaus

July 13, 1926 - Nov. 25, 2009

Rolf Dieter Buschhaus, 83, of Waukesha, died at his home Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Rolf was born July 13, 1926, the only child to Walter and Ella (nee Staas) Buschhaus in Essen, Germany.

In 1954, Rolf moved to the United States. Three years later, he married Janet Ritchie in West Union, Iowa. Very early in Rolf’s life, he acquired a love of travel that never diminished. After retiring in the early 1990s, Rolf continued traveling. He traveled most frequently to Port Orange, Fla., and enjoyed watching the space shuttle launches and soaking up the sun.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Buschhaus (nee Ritchie); daughter, Ann Buschhaus (Alan Ries); a son, Karl (Rosemary) Buschhaus; grandchildren, Anke and Soren Ries-Buschhaus and Octavia, Kenneth, Roland and Torsten Buschhaus; and other family and many friends.
