William J. ‘Bill’ Lamb

April 20, 1951 - Oct. 7, 2009

"William J. "Bill" Lamb of Waukesha died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at the age of 58. He was born April 20, 1951, the son of Oscar and Ethel (Bartles) Lamb.

Bill was a member of the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, Waukesha. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Bill was the proud owner of Bill Lamb’s Auto Repair for more than 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Packers fan. Bill’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a great listener who appreciated others.

Bill will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kathryn (Tim) Detro; son, Bob (fiancee Kristen Syrjanen) Lamb; his mother, Ethel; his grandchildren, Jenna, and Nora Detro; his special friend, Mary Lang; her children, Becky (fiance Brad Goralski) Lang, Rachel (Dan) Huber and R.C. (Jacki) Lang; grandchildren, Noah, Abby and Caleb; former wife and friend, Diane (Don) Backler; his dear aunt, Jeanette (Maynard) Wagner; and many special relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation for Bill will be held from 3 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha. A private family interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated to be donated to the charity of their choice at a later date.
