Dorothy E. Baumann

Feb. 5, 1912 - Oct. 12, 2009

Dorothy E. Baumann (nee Seaborn), longtime resident of Delafield and Hartland, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the age of 97 years.

Dorothy received her Bachelorís of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her masterís degree from UWM. She taught grades one through eight at numerous schools, including Highland View School, Lawrence School, Stone Bank School, Lakeside School and Pewaukee School. She was a former principal and school board director at Lakeside School. In addition, she was the president of the Waukesha County Retired Teachers Association and taught Sunday school at Our Saviorís Lutheran Church in Hartland. While living at Lake Terrace Apartments in Oconomowoc, she was active as a hostess, coordinator for the scooter race, milk lady and country store employee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Baumann in 1994. 

Surviving her are her son, Raymond L. (Linda) Baumann of Oconomowoc, and her daughter, Lorna (Dennis) Grimm of Oconomowoc; her grandchildren, Christopher (Corinna) Baumann, Amy Baumann, Patrick Valentine, Kathy (Todd) Leinss, Barry (Lynn) Grimm and Casey (Sue Wegner) Grimm; and her great-grandchildren, Reece Baumann, Monica Grimm, Maxwell Grimm, Jayme Valentine, Iris Johnson and Douglass Wegner. Dorothy is further survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Anna Seaborn; her brother, Raymond Seaborn; and an infant brother.

Friends may call at the Evert-Luko Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Oct. 15.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimerís Association or to Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc.
