Marlene Carol Oldenburg, formerly of Waukesha, age 73, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord Jesus unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. She was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Waukesha, the daughter of Darwin Burnett and Portia Proctor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, her parents and brother.

Survivors include her son, Rory Oldenburg; daughter, Vicki (Rick) Shepherd of Wichita, Kan.; brother, Ronnie (Carol) Burnett of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Steven Oldenburg of Wichita; and a niece, a nephew and many relatives and friends. 

Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and the funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.

A memorial has been established with Central Christian Church.
