Oct. 4, 1937 - Oct. 12, 2009

Grace Bagnall, 72, of Hayward, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital after a long struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Grace Mary Kohler was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Waukesha, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Dunn) Kohler. Grace was given away in marriage by her Uncle Norm to William Bagnall on Feb. 18, 1958. Grace and her husband, Bill, have enjoyed their home on Teal Lake for the past 31 years and have lived there permanently for the last 10 years. They were originally from the Lake Geneva area, where they own Mariondale Farms with their uncle and aunt, Arthur and Doris Kull. Grace was known for saying, “Give me the lake or the farm; how I do love the lake, but I’ll take the farm!” She worked at Johnson and Associated Banks as well as Inhoff Drug Store in Hayward for several years. Grace loved playing tennis, cross-country skiing, reading and being around people. She thought so highly of the people of the Hayward area. Her family and many friends will sadly miss Grace.

Grace is survived by her husband, Bill, of Hayward; one son, Robert (Jessica) Bagnall of Portage; two grandchildren, Jenna Marie and Brian Bagnall, both of Greeley, Colo.; one sister, Helen (Ron) Schulz of Waukesha; one brother, Gary (Paula) Kohler of Orlando, Fla.; two uncles, Norman (Minnebelle) Dunn of Waukesha and Jack Dunn of Lexington, Ky.; one sister-in-law, Barbara (Keith) Howard of Crystal Lake, Ill.; an uncle and aunt by marriage, Arthur and Doris Kull of Lake Geneva; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Lynn; and one brother, Paul.
