Carol Ruth Roettele, 84, was born Carol Ruth Fox on Christmas Day 1924 in Lincoln, Neb. Carol entered eternal life Oct. 15, 2009, after a long battle with dementia.

She was a five-year resident of Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, and formerly resided in Aurora, Colo., Delafield and Brookfield.

She was the beloved wife of years of Paul Joseph Roettele of Aurora, Colo.; beloved widow of John L. Eichenberger, who died Feb. 10, 1980, after 32 years of marriage; mother of five children, John Eichenberger of Los Angeles, the Rev. Thomas Eichenberger of Cedarburg, Linda Knopp of Eureka, Calif., James (Linda) Eichenberger of Waukesha and Mary (Shawn) Grant of Beaver Dam; grandmother of Amy (Ryan) Nilsen, Claire and Kyle Knopp, Julie, Leigh, Gail Eichenberger and Caralea Grant; and great-grandmother of Rhett Nilsen.

Carol was a former office manager at Steinhafels Furniture, and with her husband, John, was a charter member of St. Luke Parish, Brookfield.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers, John Fox, James Fox, Gene Fox and William H. Fox.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, with visitation from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church.
