Charles Edward Poenitzsch

Charles Edward Poenitzsch, 77, of Pewaukee, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Milwaukee, to Reinhold and Mabel (nee Bonow) Poenitzsch. He married Carol Jean Harry on Oct. 19, 1957, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1994.
Practicing the tool and die trade for many years, Charlie achieved the status of journeyman machinist. He was employed for many years by Magnetek Inc. of Waukesha in various management positions, retiring in 1995.
Charles is survived by his son, Scott (Linda) of Quincy, Ill.; daughter, Lori Zarling (Scott) of Eagle; and six grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Adriana, Gabriele, Trisha and Tanya. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol (Jim) Millard of Eagle River and Arlene (Charles) Shanovich of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Reinhold Jr., and a sister, Betty.
He served in the National Guard.
The family would like to thank the staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for their loving care and support.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service today, Oct. 20, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. He will be interned with his wife, Carol, at Wisconsin Memorial Park with private graveside services.
