Patricia R. Borski

Patricia R. Borski, 80, of Richland Center, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, following a six-month struggle with brain cancer. She was born March 11, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Waliser) McCarten.

Pat was united in marriage to Al Borski on June 20, 1953, in Darlington. They met at a dance and continued dancing together for 56 years. Pat enjoyed singing, gardening and landscaping and attending water aerobics. Volunteer activities included Star Spangled Celebration for 10 years, as well as with the Partners of Richland Hospital and time in the Lobby Shop. Pat treasured her family, especially visits from her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Al Borski of Richland Center; three daughters, Robin (Steven) Ziemke of Cazenovia, Cheryl (John) McNurlin of Cazenovia and Marilyn (Bruce) Creasey of Yuba; eight grandchildren, Joel Borski, Alex Ziemke, Riley (Bill) Huebsch, Shauna Mc Nurlin, Caitlin McNurlin, Devon McNurlin, Steven Whetstone and Matthew Whetstone; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Perry; her brother, James (Norma) McCarten of Rockford, Ill.; brothers- and sister-in-law, Edward (Betty) Borski of Baraboo, George (Ann) Borski of Portland, Ore., William (Peggy) Borski of Brookfield and Patricia (David) Komar of New Berlin; and many other relatives and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her great-grandson.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Pratt Memorial Chapel, 120 N. Park St., Richland Center. There will be a time of sharing and prayer at 6:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 150 W. Fourth St., Richland Center. The Rev. Robert Chukwu will officiate.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the Symons Recreation Complex or to Upland Hills Hospice in memory of Pat.
