Nicholas W. Rostagno

Nicholas W. Rostagno, 37, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009.

He was the loving son of Ward and Karen Rostagno; the dear brother of Gina (Jeff) Wallat and Anthony (Jacie) Rostagno; and the dear uncle of Jack and Caitie Wallat and Isabelle Rostagno. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Nick, a U.S. Navy veteran, graduated from Waukesha South High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also received dual master’s degrees from the University of Northern Texas. Nick owned and operated the Dark Star Studio and Gallery in Milwaukee’s historic Third Ward. As a professional artist, Nick taught in Italy and several American schools and colleges.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road (on highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha, and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 15, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha. The Rev. Kathy Boardwine will be officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
