Cyril G. ‘Bud’ Abts
Cyril G. "Bud" Abts, a longtime resident of Mesa, Ariz., joined his beloved wife, Elaine (nee Menzel), in eternal life Thursday Sept. 10, 2009, at the age of 90 years.
Bud served in the Army in World War II. He began as a radar operator and excelled to head chef. The battles he endured were Algeria, French, Morroccan, Tunisian, Sicilian, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Decorations and citations he received include the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver and four Bronze Battle Stars, five Overseas Service Bars and one Service Stripe Good Conduct Medal.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Louie and John.
He was the best friend and dad of David (Laurie) Abts. He is also survived by other family and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at LindenGrove in Waukesha, especially those who cared for Bud on Cedar Grove, and Seasons Hospice.
Bud and Elaine Will be reunited in Mesa, Ariz., at Green Acres Cemetery.
