LeRoy M. ‘Lee’ Titze

LeRoy M. "Lee" Titze of the town on Vernon passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, in Walla Walla, Wash. He was 69 years old. LeRoy was born in Waukesha on Oct. 16, 1939, the son of Floyd and Agnes (nee Omick) Titze. He was a graduate of Arrowhead High School.

On Oct. 22, 1960, he married Karen Kaufmann in Hartland.

LeRoy retired as the director of public works for the town of Vernon. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and is a member of the Red Arrow Division in Waukesha. He was also a member of the Waukesha County Public Works Association.

Leroy was also a member of the band Roulettes, which eventually became known as the Ramrods. He volunteered his time at area nursing homes, entertaining the residents with singalongs. Leroy was also an avid outdoor sportsman and he loved to travel.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; his children, Tyler Titze of the town of Vernon, Sally (Michael) Knurr of Mukwonago and Jennifer (Daniel) Schmid of Eagle; his grandchildren, Marion Titze, Karlee and Kody Knurr and Emily Schmid; three brothers, Robert (Bernice) Titze of Waukesha, Larry Parks of Boulder Junction and Raymond (Susan) Titze of Waterford; his mother-in-law, Marion Kaufmann of Waterford; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Shayne; a brother, Gordon; a sister-in-law, Judith Parks; and his father-in-law, Howard Kaufmann.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc. A family and friend eulogy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Innocents Cemetery, town of Merton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ducks Unlimited or to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin would be appreciated.
