Henry John Schwarting

Henry John Schwarting of Delafield died peacefully
Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at age 93, circled in the love of his three daughters. He left this earth to join Helen, his loving wife of 65 years.

He was born in Spring Valley, Ill., the son of Charles and Angelina (Grosso) Schwarting. He met Helen in northern Wisconsin, where he was stationed in the Conservation Corps. They were married in 1940 and settled in Waukesha in 1950, where they raised three daughters: Jeanne (Garth), Rolbiecki of Octanogan, Mich., Terry Kenny of Elgin, Ill., and Patti (Owen) Accardo of Delafield. He and his wife moved to Delafield in 1984. Henry was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha from 1951 until his death.

Henry worked for Rex Chainbelt (Rexnord) for 37 years, until his retirement in 1979, where he was a member of the Rex Rod & Gun Club and remained a member of the Rexnord Retiree Club. Besides his family, his passions were gardening, baseball, hunting and especially fishing. He loved to take his children, grandchildren and anyone else that could fit in a boat, to fish.

Besides his daughters, he will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren, Debbie (Steve) Niere, Sandy Smith, Johnny Smith, Terri (Robert) Kresnak, Tammi Corrao, Sheryl (Al) Stark, Robbie (Janice) LaPlante, Lisa (Ed) Szydlowski and Sean (Fern) Strahan; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Fred Omsted; 24 greatgrandchildren,19 great great-grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents, Charles and Angelina Schwarting; and brothers, William, Thomas and Charles Jr.

The family wishes to offer a heart-felt thank you to Lora and Krista, who were wonderful, compassionate caregivers to Henry over the last several years. His life was extended by their loving care.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Monday, April 5, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha. Private interment will be Tuesday morning at Salem Cemetery.
