Phillip Held
Sept. 7, 1942 – April 7, 2010
Phillip Held, 67, of Montello, formerly of Merton,
passed away peacefully surrounded by his family early Wednesday, April 7,
2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 7, 1942, to Barton and Ruth (Wester)
Held in Hartford.
Phillip was an employee of Waukesha Electric
Systems for more than 25 years until retiring to the Montello area in
2006. Phillip was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He leaves behind his wife, Ellen (nee Byrne); five
children, Randy of Niles, Mich., Lisa of Maplewood, Minn., Deana (Shawn)
Salisbury of Guyton, Ga., Heidi (Jason) Fredrick of Oconomowoc and Timothy
(Jessica) Byrne of New Berlin; two grandsons, Eric Held and Brandon
Salisbury; two sisters, Carolyn (Donald) Serres and Ruth (Bill) Rademan;
and five aunts, Anna Rankin, Esther (Charly) Whyte, Mildred Dallmann, June
(James) Bitney and Marjory Seidl. He is further survived by his
sister-in-law, Dorothy Held of Westfield; five sisters-in-law and two
brothers-in-law, all in Ireland, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins
and dear friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and
two brothers, Barton and infant Michael.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the 3
p.m. memorial service Sunday, April 11, at St. Paul’s United Church of
Christ, 495 St. Augustine Road, Colgate. The Rev. John Helt will
officiate.
