Karen E. Weibel

Karen E. Weibel, 64, of Jefferson, died peacefully Thursday, April 8,
2010, in Jefferson. She was born Sept. 26, 1945, in Oconomowoc, to Willard
and Elnora (Oldenhoff) Koester.
Karen attended schools in the Oconomowoc area, graduating from Oconomowoc
High School. Earlier in life, Karen worked a number of jobs while trying
to raise her three children. Her eventual employment as an intake
specialist for Jefferson County Human Services gave her the freedom to
attend more often to her true love, her children and grandchildren. She
took pride in what she did, and the friendships she made while working
there were beyond her wildest dreams. She cherished all of her fellow
employees. Karen’s passions were her family first, then quilting,
traveling and the theater.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Gary) Ottman of Fort Worth,
Texas; her two sons, Robin (Michelle) Weibel of Rhinelander and Tyler (Alecia)
Weibel of Springboro, Ohio; her grandchildren, Craig (Maria), Melissa,
Samantha and Brenden Ottman, Coby and Aliana Weibel and Josh McGeshik; her
sisters, Doris Hasslinger of Delafield, Beatrice (Roland) Krueger of
Hartford and Phyllis Krahn of Watertown; her brother, Clarence (Carol)
Koester; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard and
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 4:30 p.m. memorial Mass
today, April 15, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, with
the Rev. Jay Poster officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Lutheran
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for "Tomorrow’s
Hope" in Karen’s name and can be directed to 147 W. Rockville Ave.,
Jefferson, WI 53549.
