George Harold Mussell

George Harold Mussell of Mukwonago passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at home at the age of 93. George was born in Merrill on March 11, 1917, the youngest child of Herman and Ida (Plamann) Mussell.
He was married to Margaret (Stern) on Nov. 13, 1943, and they raised two children. George lived life to the fullest working as a farmer, milkman and volunteer fireman. He owned Phillips 66 and Shell stations in Hartland, earning a reputation as the best mechanic around. He also repaired small engines and worked on squads at the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. A gifted woodsman and craftsman, George also worked as a cheese maker, lumberjack and tailor and was well-known for his laugh, his sense of humor, his generosity and his rummage sales. George loved and was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
George will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Margaret; his son, Dale (Amy) of Sheboygan; daughter, Lynne (Arien) Herminath of New London; his granddaughters, Sara (Mark) Medlin and Meghan Mussell; grandsons, David Herminath and Nathan Mussell; and his greatgranddaughters, Katie and Elena Medlin. He will also be remembered by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Mussell of Merrill, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Art, Reinholdt and Raymond Mussell; his sister, Gertrude; and his sisters-inlaw, Syliva and Gertrude.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Larry Gates will officiate. Entombment at Prairie Home Cemetery will immediately follow.
