Katherine L. Allen (nee Johnson) of Waukesha died peacefully with her family by her side at Angels-Grace Hospice on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at the age of 91. She was born Jan. 23, 1919, the daughter of Albert and Catherine (Daley) Johnson. Katherine married Smiley Allen on Dec. 6, 1936, in Florida. She loved gospel music and was a deeply spiritual and high-spirited woman. Katherine was very supportive of her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Judy Allen Groh and Christine Allen. She will be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; daughters-in-law, Barbara Allen and Mary Allen-Crosson; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Smiley Allen; two sons, Daniel W. Allen and Richard G. Allen; and granddaughter, Theresa Krier.

Visitation for Katherine will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. The Rev. Curt Frederick will be officiating. Please meet in the red parking area.
