Virginia F. "Ginny" Williams
Dec. 18, 1917 – Aug. 14, 2010
Virginia F. "Ginny" Williams of Waukesha died Saturday, Aug. 14,
2010, at The Virginia Health and Rehab Center at the age of 92. She was
born on Dec. 18, 1917, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Harry and
Anita (Clarke) French. Ginny was united in marriage to Robert L. Williams
on Oct. 24, 1941, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Milwaukee. She
proudly served her country as a lieutenant in the Women’s Army Corps,
working as a recruiter from 1942 until 1944. After furthering her
education, she became a teacher in Montessori schools for over 25 years.
Ginny had a lifelong love of animals of all kinds. Ginny will be held
close in the hearts and thoughts of her children: David (Lynn) Williams of
Massachusetts, Robert (Francie) Williams of Oregon, Bryan (Susan) Williams
of California, Heather (Michael) Kluth of Waukesha, and Brett Williams of
Milwaukee; grandchildren: Gwyn (David), Josie, Connor, Caitlyn, Michaella,
Brett and Bryan; great-grandchildren: Jack, Emma, Owen and Kaeden; and
foster grandchildren: Phillip, Theodore and Leonard. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Robert, in 1982, foster daughter Shirley (Leitzke)
Casper, and foster grandson Michael Leitzke.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at
Ottawa Cemetery at highways 67 and D in the town of Ottawa. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of
Waukesha County, 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188.
