Richard ‘Dick’ M. Dankert

"Dick" M. Dankert of Waukesha died on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at
Waukesha Springs, at the age of 86. Dick was born May 15, 1924, a son of
Paul and Margaret Dankert. He married the love of his life, Evelyn
Christensen, on March 6, 1946. Dick graduated with a business degree in
1946 from Dana College in Blair, Neb. He was a member of Ascension
Lutheran Church, Waukesha. Dick enjoyed sports, especially football,
playing cards, bowling and shooting darts. His "ballroom"
displayed his large signature golf ball collection. His greatest joy was
spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Dick will always be remembered for his witty sense of
Dick will be dearly missed by his wife, Evelyn; children, Paul (Diane)
Dankert, David (Cynthia) Dankert, Stephen (Patty) Dankert and Karen
(Ervin) Grohall; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy Sue), Ryan (Stephanie),
Amy (Kyle), Rebekah, Shaun (Becky), Jennifer (Nicholas); and
great-grandchildren, Drew, Ariana, Karis Owen, and Kai. Dick is further
survived by a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded
in death by his parents and twin brother Robert.
The funeral service for Dick will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at
Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha. The Rev. Frank Janzow
will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home,
237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held from 11
a.m. until the 12 p.m. service at the church Friday. In lieu of flowers,
memorials to the family are appreciated.
