Roderick L. Mann
Jan. 16, 1918 – Aug. 30, 2010
Roderick L. Mann of East Troy (Lake Beulah), formerly of Springfield,
Ohio, passed away at Linden Court, Mukwonago, on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010. He
was 92.
Roderick was born in New York on Jan. 16, 1918, the son of Robert and
Gladys (nee Hudson) Mann, and then moved to Waukesha at an early age.
He was a graduate of Waukesha High School and attended the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
Roderick was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific as
a medic.
He was a retired salesman for American Greeting (formerly C.P.S.
Industries) in Chicago. Roderick was a member of the American Legion Post
#188 in East Troy, the Laflin/St. James Lodge #247 F&AM and the
LaBelle Chapter #40 O.E.S., both in Mukwonago, the Lake Beulah Yacht Club
and the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago.
Survivors include his children, John (Julie) of Eagle, Tim (Kristin) of
Norwood, Colo., and Julie Ann (Jeff) Lee of Clearwater, Fla.;
grandchildren, Heather (Nate) Cobb, Joshua (Cristen) Mann, Chelsea
McGowan, Olivia and Ruby Lee; a brother, Wallace Mann of West Des Moines,
Iowa; and a sister, Beverly (Don) Chappie of Waukesha. He is further
survived by four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Roderick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of more than 60
years, Wilma (nee Schultz); three brothers, Delbert, Russell and James;
and a sister, Betty Hornbuckle.
A celebration of Roderick’s life will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Lake Beulah Yacht Club, N9920 E. Shore Road, East
Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Linden Court, Mukwonago, the University
of Wisconsin-Madison School of Agriculture or to the First Congregational
Church of Mukwonago are appreciated.
