Lisa D. Wegner
Aug. 24, 1960 – Aug. 27, 2010
Lisa "Marie Ann Dolores" Wegner of Pewaukee passed away
peacefully at Mishawaka, Ind., on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at the age of 50.
She was born in Waukesha on Aug. 24, 1960, the only child of Earl G.
"Duke" and Dolores J. Wegner.
Lisa was a graduate of the Class of 1978 at Waukesha South High School.
She spent the next few years accumulating an education at many University
of Wisconsin colleges, graduating with honors from the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee with many degrees and 386 credits. In 1991, she
focused on graphic design and formed the company Pinnacle Graphic Design.
In the early 2000s, she went on to earn her master’s degree in English
literature from Northwestern University. She wrote poetry and was working
on many short stories and books. She had the honor of having Maya Angelou
call her an equal.
Lisa will be sadly missed by her loving wife, Kirby Ann. She will also be
missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who were more like her
immediate family, having been an only child.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores, on Jan. 11, 2008; and
father, Duke, on March 29, 2008. She lost a good part of her spirit after
their deaths.
Lisa was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Waukesha and
presently a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, also of Waukesha.
She believed in guardian angels and how they kept her safe all her life.
Lisa enjoyed reading, writing, (but not arithmetic) music, movies, all of
the arts and sports, including her favorite Boston Red Sox. She loved all
the new technical devices, and her latest was the iPad. Lisa had a passion
for discussing current events, along with politics and religion. Using her
knowledge in psychology, sociology and her IQ of 184, she loved to see how
people thought and acted. She thrived on the loving company of her
extended family. She lived by her favorite quote, "Life is a journey,
not a destination."
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service
Wednesday, Sept. 1, at at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home,
237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A private family entombment will be held
