Feb. 9, 1931 – Nov. 19, 2010

Robert M. Hallenbeck Sr. of Mukwonago was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Hudson, N.Y., and passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lou; mother-in-law, Elsie Schantzen; brother-in-law, Buddy Schantzen; parents, George and Dorothy; younger sister, Carol; and his younger brother, Vernon (Tammy) Hallenbeck.

Robert is survived by a son, Bob Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kim Hallenbeck; brother-inlaw, Michael (Carol) Schantzen; daughter, Cheryl (Paul) Cieszynski; grandchildren, Tina and Brian; older brother, George (Mary) Hallenbeck; and many other friends and relatives.

Robert served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 and fought in the Korean War, where he was awarded five medals. After 38 years of dedicated service to the Brunner Corp. in Milwaukee, he retired to Crivitz. He moved to Mukwonago to live with his son, Bob Jr., in late 2007, where he loved to stand out by the road in front of their home on Highway ES and wave to the many people driving by.
 
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. military honor service Saturday, Dec. 4, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago.
