Duane Van Remmen, 63, a man who never met a stranger, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, in Fort Worth, Texas.
    Mr. Van Remmen was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Milwaukee, to Francis and Adeline Bruss Van Remmen. He married Nancy Jean Loehndorf on Sept. 28, 1968, in Milwaukee.
    Duane was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of Patillo Baptist Church.
    He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Monica Van Remmen and James and Heather Van Remmen; grandchildren, Rebecca and Sarah Van Remmen and Callie Price, Cooper and Whitney Van Remmen; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene Van Remmen, Judy Van Remmen, Tom Van Remmen, George Ann O’Dell and husband, Howard; and nieces and nephews, Jay Van Remmen, Vince and Reneé Bussie, Jason, Eric, Jill, Sandy, Holly and Lauren Van Remmen and Dawn Felix.
    Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Patillo Baptist Church in Patillo, Texas. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the church. Burial will be at North Santo Cemetery in Santo, Texas.
